Walking through the main gates underneath the railway station in the Walt Disney World Magic Kingdom for the first time is a very special moment, you can’t help getting excited as your heart starts to throb at the sheer excitement and joy that this place promotes, and the initial view is overwhelming.
Main street USADisney-World-Magic-Kingdom.Stretched out before you is the Main Street USA road the top of which stands the magnificent Cinderella castle, Main street USA is the central roadway in Magic Kingdom, where an old fashioned Fire Engine and a Horse drawn tram car can be seen from time to time during the day carrying tourist and all your favorite Disney Character, including Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Pluto, Goofy and Donald Duck, all frantically waving as they move down the central roadway. As you walk down Main Street USA you will notice on either side of the road shops selling a variety of special Disney goods from ice cream sundae treats to nut covered toffee apples, which just happens to be my favorite.Cakes shops display the most outrageous cream cakes four inches high. Stalls and small shops sell large foot long hot dogs with lots of accompaniments, including chips cold slaw and a number of different sauces. While you rest nearby to enjoy your snack a honky tonk pianist serenades you with old fashion saloon type tunes we would hear on a cowboy movie. Disney OrlandoDisney-World-Magic-Kingdom. Professional photographers mingle with the holiday makers snapping you and your family enjoying the electric atmosphere which surrounds you.Photographs can be bought as you leave the Magic Kingdom from a photo booth; they are really nice memorable pieces which are framed by a cover with one of the familiar scenes within Disney Magic Kingdom. Disney CharacterStalls selling hats and Tee-shirts adorn Main Street USA, you can purchase a Mickey Mouse or Minnie hat complete with large authentic ears, or maybe you would prefer a Goofy hat with floppy ears and a protruding nose, or one modeled on Donald Duck with a real life, looking beak.Tee-shirts with every conceivable Disney Character and scene hang on small covered stalls, once again you are spoilt for choice there some are fluorescent shirts, some glow in the dark, and others play a familiar Disney tune which comes from a state of the art micro chip sewn into the lining. Disney MusicBarber shop quartets ring out in pure harmony from the wash board and trumpet instruments which will have you jiving and singing along with the tunes, it all goes to create an unbelievable atmosphere where cares of the day drift away, as you relax and get into the mood of the occasion.Disney FunBalloon sellers in traditional turn of the century dress, do a roaring trade selling their helium filled balloons to the passing theme park visitor, after all which small child does not like to have a balloon on a string to carry along with them, as they soak up the atmosphere.I have stopped myself buying one on several occasions thinking that they are just for children, however with hind sight I should have gone with the heart and bought one, enjoying the experience of having my own balloon. Disney is like that, it instills fun and excitement instantly in us all, and it has a very clever way of doing it, it simply promotes fun with cheerful and interesting cartoon characters, audio and visual experiences, and unique well crafted rides where surprises happen on every turn and incline.
