The lack of Insurance, for your holiday Travel, is a bad mistake! Which could cost you a lot of money, and unnecessary pain and suffering to your family.

I often hear stories, where families, individuals, and couples decide against taking out any form of holiday insurance, please do not skip this vital protection.

I hear people say:-

1.We have never had any trouble when on holiday in the past.

2.It’s too expensive, I would rather keep my money for gifts

3.There is nothing wrong with me, I’ll be O.K.

4. I simply didn’t think about it.

So lets look at putting things right

1.Insurance – project’s your holiday deposits and your final payments if your holiday is cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances!

3.Insurance–provides cash for lost or stolen Visa cards, Driving licenses, and your important Passport

5.Insurance–Is a must for medical expenses, they can be considerable in other parts of the World.

6.Insurance- Removes the what will I do if? Frame of mind, which we all can do without on holiday

Speaking as an ex medic, I know too well how accidents can spoil your precious vacation, so please do take heed and protect yourself and family with appropriate travel Insurance.

Research has indicated possible medical costs, a slip on a wet floor, producing damage to ribs, could set you back around $3700, another fall I read about where the unlucky recipient broke an arm and required stitches to a head wound, medical bill cost $5500

Without an appropriate amount of travel insurance, the figures above would have required you paying them, out of your hard earned money!, an these payments are required before release from the medical centre.

That would indeed put the proverbial damper on what would have been a memorable event

There are many ways to go about purchasing your insurance.

• Internet

• Newspapers

• Magazines

• TV advertising

• Word of mouth

Costs vary enormously, take your time and do your research. Depending on what is offered on the policy, you will be amazed how similar cover can have a big difference in cost.

The travel agent, with whom you book your holiday, will probably ask if you require insurance, yes there are some superb deals such as extended term cover if you plan traveling again in a short period of time, free child cover etc.

Experience though has proved that great deals can be bought over the internet.

Insurer’s operating over the web do not have the amount of financial overheads that other Insurers operating from high street premises do!

Always check the small print when you purchase your travel insurance, clear any dark areas you are not to sure about.

Always download terms and conditions so you can browse through.

Do look out for discrimination, whether it is focused on the elderly or very young. Do look around and compare Insurers to make sure that policies fit you and your family.
