Health benefits of producing painting’s and portraits.
Painting is wonderful, it unleashes the inner creative self, try it, everyone can paint, and everyone can do what they want to do in their heads, turn this thought process which we all have into something tangible. Remember as a child how you could fly to the moon in a cardboard box, or race through the crowded streets in fire engines…another box.
Creative thinking unleashes the inner soul, or is the inner soul a creative machine; I tend to think that it’s the latter. Creative thinking especially painting thinking, which is putting your thoughts into pictures has enormous benefits, it could also make you famous.
Features and benefits is something that marketers talk about when selling new shiny products to their market place. An electronic tin opener has the benefit of allowing people with still arthritic joints to take off a can lid with out pain, a benefit to those who suffer from still aching joints.
Health benefits come in many forms, painting or any other creative craft serves to calm the inner self and free it from all that outside noise and fast living that is part of modern living. Notice the news bulletins concentrating on occupational health issues in local old people’s homes, or instruction in a youth offenders institution, who will always see some type of craft being promoted, painting in water color is a favorite.
Art has the uncanny knack of focusing your eye and brain, when you look at something which you would like to capture in oil or water paint, you see much more when your eye drifts slowly across the subject, you see more colors and shapes than people see without the untrained brain or eye. I often think about Richard Feynman that extraordinary genius who once said that when an artist holds up a beautiful flower for him to look at, he would see much more than the aesthetic sense which we all possess, as a physicist he could imagine in his minds eye all he inner process going on within the flower.
Feynman would say that he could see that the flower had developed a particular color and perfume over time to attract an insect to pollinate the flower. You have these skills within you too. Art is a way to see much more about the world than you would normally see, look at the natural light from a sunset or morning sunrise, see how it changes gradually over a number of minutes, capture those pictures on paper, the sooner you start the quicker you will learn how to paint reasonably well. I often watch the sunrise and close on an evening, as humans we have this inbuilt sense of ore and mystery about our natural world, early humans worshipped the sun.
Health benefits from painting something that you have noticed, in a much deeper fashion is not just good for the inner creative self, and it takes you outside into the fresh air where you add to your visual experience by filling up your lungs with fresh wholesome air. Walk a little and the benefits are compounded. A good way to capture these images for later use on your easel, paint brush in hand, is to take photographs, photographs are the words on paper which you read to create your pictures.
