Best Things to See and Do at Disney Theme Parks
Best Things to See and Do at Disney Theme ParksAuthor: John AllsoppBest Things to See and Do at Disney Theme Parks Have you wondered what you would do if faced with a bus crash disaster made worse by a fuel tanker exploding near to your crashed vehicle, have you thought how you would react if faced with a gangster shoot out in your street, or what it would be like to be part of the Mary Poppins movie. Would you enjoy walking through a 30 foot tall blade of grass? All these things and a lot more surprises are created for you by the Walt Disney World theme park imagineers. The bus crash I'm talking about is part of the backlot tour attraction at Disney Hollywood Studios. The tour is a thirty five minute walking and tram ride tour which demonstrates with the use of large water tanks and pyrotechnics to create realistic sea battles and storms at sea. You may be one of the lucky guests who are asked if they wish to take part in the demonstration. Your tour ends when your tram takes a detour through catastrophe canyon, an earthquake hits, an explosion happens, but don't worry its all part of best things to see at Disney. The great movie ride, in Hollywood studios is where you will be part of a gangster type street shoot out, but don't worry no one gets hurt, its all part of Disney's use of special animatronics and movie effects. Over fifty realistic animatronics recreate the great movie stars of yesterday, recreations of the famous movies such as Casablanca, Fantasia and the wizard of oz, are provided for your entertainment. John Wayne and James Cagney are here to meet you, be sure to look at the hand and foot prints of famous stars immortalized in cement as you leave the Grauman's Chinese Theatre. Walk through giant 30 foot tall blades of grass where giant bumble bee's some 40 foot across are created for your entertainment, this is the 11000 square foot playground adventure based on the movie Honey I shrunk the audience. Small children in the pre school age group will delight at all this attraction has to offer, unique place to capture those special holiday photographs. More attractions await you at the Disney Hollywood studios, one of the best is the Muppet 3D show, pick up your special glasses on your way in to the theatre and be amazed by Gonza and fuzzy bear, and you feel as if you can actually stretch out your hand and touch these adorable characters, because of the special effects. Kermit and Miss Piggy and the rest of the gang will have you laughing, clapping and singing along with the different songs from this special show. "Minnie Mouse Moms", Multi-Generation/Multi-Family Travel Part 1
My family regularly travels to Walt Disney World multi-generational. A typical vacation to Disney World includes my son, my mom and myself. The travels together allows us to go more often as we split the costs of the room and the food. My mom being with me has always allowed me the ability to ride the larger attractions while she and my son ride ones they are more interested in.
After many (many) visits to the “World”, my mom decided that she would bring along my Grandmother for one of our adventures. My Grandmother was 88 at the time and was not up for the level of walking that any of the Walt Disney World theme parks requires. As such, we decided we would rent my Grandmother a scooter. We were able to rent from a scooter location which delivered the scooters directly to the Resorts. We also knew that she would not be able to get into the normal showers available at the Resorts. We spoke with Disney about our concerns and they said that they could accommodate us in a handicap room. We made sure to get assistance lined up at the airport in order to get my Grandmother from the car to the gate. This arrangement only required that we call our airline and request the assistance.
With some apprehension, we all met up to begin our adventure. Once at the airport, we quickly found the assistance we needed to easily get my Grandmother to our gate. We had a wonderful flight to Orlando, then were again helped at the Orlando airport to get my Grandmother to our rental car. Once we arrived at the Pop Century, we picked up her scooter (which was a lot of fun to ride in!) and headed to our room. This trip included my son, mom, sister, Grandmother and myself. When we got to the Pop, we were told that we would receive two adjoining rooms with no charge for the second one! We found our room and were pleased with the amount of space we had.
My Grandmother was quickly a pro at using the scooter, much to her surprise. We had a wonderful day in EPCOT. She decided that she must see Mickey Mouse and off we went to find him. We had a great time there during our visit. In fact, Mickey loved my Grandmother so much, he tried to leave with us!
All of us had a great time there together. It was fun to be able to experience EPCOT with my Grandmother and other family members. It is an experience I will cherish for my lifetime!

All-Walt-Disney-Characters
Two of the best known characters, namely Chip n Dale, can be seen in the entrance area to Magic Kingdom.
Lynn and I have seen these two cheerful characters many times during our visits to Walt Disney World. Check the character meet and greet information, which is usually posted near to the entrance to Magic Kingdom, or ask a friendly cast member for Character greeting times.

Now here is a very well dressed Character in the form of Jiminy Cricket, Lynn and I have spotted him just once in the Magic Kingdom, when he was dressed in top hat and tails, and carrying a walking stick. Jiminy cricket was of course the mentor to Pinocchio; you can read a little background history to Jiminy by clicking into this link.

Blizzard Beach, is a water park located at the, Walt Disney World Resort,
Blizzard Beach is a water park located at the Walt Disney World ResortAuthor: John AllsoppBlizzard Beach is a water park located at the Walt Disney World Resort The park opened on April 1, 1995 and was the third WDW water park after River Country and Typhoon Lagoon. The theme of the park is the "Disney legend" of a freak snowstorm in the area, leading to the construction of Florida's first ski resort. Naturally, the snow didn't last long, leaving behind a collection of waterlogged but snow-less ski jumps and chair lifts. "Ice Gator" The failed resort was in the process of closing for good when an alligator was seen sliding down a flume and splashing into a pool of water, screaming "Yahoo!" Thus the "ski resort" was reborn as a water park, with the alligator named "Ice Gator" as mascot. 1.89 million Guests In 2008, the park hosted approximately 1.89 million guests, ranking it the second-most visited water park in the world, behind its sister park, Typhoon Lagoon. Mount Gushmore The majority of the major attractions at the park are hosted atop of Mount Gushmore, an artificial hill with an elevation of 90 feet (27 m); making it the fifth highest point in Florida Mount Gushmore is split into three colored slopes to aid guests navigating around the park: Green, Red and Purple. The "Mountain" also serves to hide the park's pipes. All water areas are heated! At approximately 80 degrees Fahrenheit, with the exception of the melting snow in the ice cave of Cross Country Creek. Cool Advice Cool Advice..for Blizzard-beach Renting a locker for your personal belongings is highly recommended,... especially if you plan on experiencing the big thrill attractions—since it may be difficult to keep track of your hats, glasses, jewelry and things while plunging down a nearly vertical 13-story high, ..360-foot long flume.. through a darkened tunnel at speeds of 50 to 60 miles per hour. It is also advisable to wear water shoes or flip-flops while visiting Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park, as you may choose to climb stairs to access certain attractions. Cinderella's Castle Disney World Orlando- Is it Magical?
Cinderella's Castle Disney World Orlando- Is it Magical?Author: John AllsoppCinderella's Castle Disney World Orlando- Is it Magical? I'm often asked this question, probably due to the fact that I have written so much about it, Yes is the answer it is very magical, children come alive here, you would not believe the wide smiles especially when the little girls appear after being made up as Cinderella, little boys can be made up too, not as Cinderella more like Pirates. The castle is huge and just what you would expect from a fairy tale location, it looks like a giant birthday cake and when we were there recently it had been transformed a little by Disney cake maintenance engineers, they looked as if some of the icing had been smoothed a little on it's structure. Cinderella does visit her home and if you are lucky, you can pose with your children and have that memorable photograph taken with her, she will also sign her name in your autograph book. The castle plays host to character meals, they are very much sort after, if you are really interested I suggest you book early. Many people with little girls have combined the Disney Character meet with a Dining opportunity; this would make a special birthday, something to remember. The Castle is at the end of Main Street U.S.A. in Disney's wonderful magical Kingdom, yes the Magic Kingdom is truly exciting highly entertaining and should be on everyone's must go there some time, list. Children will be delighted with the prospect of Disney and Mickey Mouse, but you must make it special, tell them all about the Magic and Snow White, I loved this as a child, and your children will love it too. Cinderella's castle is the focus point for Disney to play out its magnificent live theatre, they take place throughout the day in front of Cinderella's castle, make sure you arrive early, seats near the front fill up very fast, so if your holidays party includes elderly relatives head there early for a seat. Cinderella does perform in front of her castle in Live Disney, you will see Mickey and Minnie perform too, together with a host of other Disney Characters including Goofy, Pluto, Beauty and the Beast, Donald Duck Daisy Duck, and Winnie the pooh. These live highly energetic performances take place in the heat of the Floridian mid day sun! However the dancers and musicians are all very young and obviously fit to perform for you. The castle plays host to shops selling light snacks and gift pieces, many figurines depicting Disney cartoon characters can be bought here. Remember this benefit of staying on a Disney Holiday Hotel campus, all presents and gifts bought in the Disney theme parks will be shipped by Disney Free of charge back to your Disney Hotel reception area, that is one of the great benefits of staying at a Disney Hotel, the other one which I would say is the most important is the Free transport to your chosen Disney theme park and back to your Disney Hotel. Disney's Cinderella's castle has played its part as a great backdrop for many of our Disney World photographs, if you have your own camera, make sure to capture the castle behind your holiday party. Professional Disney approved photographers walk around near the Cinderella Castle, if you do not have your own camera these photographers will capture you and your family, your print can be bought at an outlet near to the Magic Kingdom's exit point. John Allsopp explains "The Most Visited Attraction in Orlando, Florida"
The Most Visited Attraction in Orlando, FloridaAuthor: John AllsoppWhy is it the most visited place in Orlando and continues to attract more and more people from all over the World, I believe it has the most diversity and mystical attractions which we all grew up with, turning out fairytale memories into reality. Disney puts on spectacular parades in the Magic Kingdom, they are truly awesome, I often wonder when watching these highly co-coordinated parades how long it took to plan and implement them into the general overall list of attractions this theme park has to offer. I am sure when you see them you will like me come the conclusion that an awful lot of people spent a considerable amount of time to perfect these marvelous street shows. Pirates of the Caribbean is high on my list of must do things in Disney's Magic Kingdom, Captain Jack and his bunch of pirates will have you spell bound, the who atmosphere transports you back to the pirates and the battles which took place on the high sea. When cannot be amazed by this attraction, the animatronics, the sound the pirates and their antics are simply superb. Splash mountain, is another favorite, it transports you back in time to the gold rush, not to mention uncle Remus and the wonderful enchanting characters, Brer Fox, Brer Rabbit and last but by no means least Brer Bear. Watch out though Brer fox is always up to his tricks and you just never know when he will jump out from behind a corner, children will delight in this cartoon character, so mom's and Dad's have ready your autograph book and camera! The Hall of presidents is another must see attraction, it takes you through a animated journey through the ages when America was being formed into the Country it is today, high automated figures tell of the story of America's founding fathers in a very interesting and entertaining manner, that only Disney can do. Orlando is a gold mine of innovation entertainment and laughter, it is one of those places you must see at some point of time in your life, for the reasons talked about above and for all the other entertainment provided by this charming place!
